Artist FAQs

What is Greenwich Village Art Fair (GVAF)? GVAF was established in 1948 and has been held on the grounds of Rockford Art Museum for 72 years. The weekend has traditionally featured original art, kid’s activities, live music, food + beverage vendors and a small business marketplace. Greenwich is the largest fundraiser for Rockford Art Museum with all proceeds benefitting exhibitions and educational programs.

What will GVAF look like this year? We’re excited to be in person this year as we continue to navigate COVID-19. Of course, all precautions will be taken but as we are an outside art fair we are hopeful shoppers and artists alike will feel safe and comfortable. The fair will return to its full weekend and continue to have live music, kid’s activities, food, and, of course, lots of original art!

How can I apply? To be considered for this year’s Greenwich Village Art Fair apply at zapplication.org. You will need to complete the form and also upload images of your work for review by the jury. Application deadline is May 15th with invited applicants informed by May 25th. (Vendors can apply here.)

What sort of art are you looking for? As we continue to navigate the pandemic we are taking this opportunity to expand our traditional offerings of fine art to include fine craft. However, the art must still be original and not mass-produced. Categories of art include: ceramics, drawing / works on paper, fiber, furniture, leather, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood. All categories are better explained at Zapp.

How much does it cost to participate? Initially, a $30 application/jurying fee is required. Once you’ve been juried in, booth fees will be $235 for a standard space. All accepted applicants will also be featured on GreenwichVillageArtFair.com.

How will Greenwich be promoted? We will be using social media and direct mass marketing to reach both the Greenwich and Rockford Art Museum audience. We will be creating press releases and working with media to get the word out locally and regionally. As a participating artist, we will provide you with graphics and content to promote to your followers as well!

Are there awards? Yes! We are pleased to be able to provide cash awards and ribbons to the Best of Show, 5 honorable mentions and 6 judge’s choice awards.
